1988 Accord
I am buying a 88 Accord hatchback. its my first honda and i was wondering if anyone could give me any info about engine swaps. i hear its a bad platform but any suggestions would be great. thanks. teh_emo_kid

I didn't say something like, "...EX in 1988 Accord EX..."
The reason I didn't use trim levels from the 88 Accord in my examples is because I didn't know what trims were on the 88 Accord so I used an example I knew exsisted.

well here is the bottom line either way
LX-i, EX-i, SE-i = awesome car, good horsepower
DX, LX = a potential money pit due to the carb system, lower horsepower better fuel economy

it must be a dx then. i dont know if i mentioned it but its a carborated engine also. i hear they are a bitch to do swaps on. but like i mentioned any feedback on engines to put in it would be great.
did they have the *-i (fuel injected) in 88? i thought they came around in 89, but i may be wrong.

if you are gonna go with an 88 hatch (love that body btw) i would want to get a -i trim to eliminate the carbeurated(sp) factor
