i was wanting to buy a FAL lexan kit and a CF hatch to shed some weight, i was wondering if anyone knew the weight of the hatch and the glass. If its not that much im not gonna waste 1000 dollars on it. Im trying to get my 91 dx to the weight of an 88 hf

 

look at ur door/ search(2100-2200ish). i wonder how much a crx coupe weights?

I don't think your hatch weighs 200 pounds to get it close to the crx weight.

It says crx hatch. He has a crx and wants to know how much the hatch weighs and judge whether or not it will justify buying a cf hatch and lexan window. I'd say save your 1000 bux and upgrade your motor youll notice more gains then a lighter hatch

 

Hell, I have an 88 hf hatch sitting in my garage right now...let me bring out the scale and see, one sec.

and getting a cf hatch and lexan is not were i stop as far a weight reduction.

thanks, im diff not gonna buy that stuff now

 

I was just going to get a spare hatch at the junkyard and cut all the bracing out and put a peice of plexi glass in it...well just for track use, but you can shed alot of weight, but the glass is where most of the wieght is from, not the hatch itself

40 lbs really?? i guess its just the awkwardness of trying to carry them around that makes them feel so effing heavy.
