Default Which bike should I go with?

Found a few candidates for my next bike. I plan to do most of my riding on the track with the occasional weekend rides in the hills. Here are the options:

First is a '02 SV650 with a bunch of mods (what I would do if I was to get a SV; bike actually has 30k miles). Talked the price down to $4500

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/mcy/181024777.html

Next is a street/track prepped '01 R6. I already had a '01 R6 and it was a pretty darn good bike. This one has quite a few mods. Talked the owner down to $4200

That's a hot SV. It could do without the front fairing and windshield and have the single light conversion thing. But that's the bike i'd get.

the R6 is ready to roll, and would probably give you more of a challenge... which is a good thing

the R6 sounds set up BP, trackl millage versus street miles on the SV... also a 650cc twin will feel weak in comparo

I think I'd like to change my vote. I just don't like red bikes.

i don't know why people ride SV650's its the ugliest bike ever in the whole damn world. I will vote for R6 because it's already ready for everything/ street/track.

People ride SV's because they do everything well.

But you are right - that SV is sooo ugly. I would never buy a pre-2003 SV of any stripe, they just don't look right.

R6. Extra set of wheels for when the rain gods try to spoil the fun. Track plastics + Street plastics. And you have prior experience with them.

Or pick up an old Gix6 for $2k (or less!).

You might as well get the R6 if you're planning on tracking.

So just because your kia has tuner wheels and jdm headlights doesn't make it worth it. Its still a kia.

I'm simply stating I don't think a SV is worth that much.

+1 for the R6 because:

That and it's cheaper than the sv.

uh wtf. that's completely irrelevant and not even remotely the same so I won't even begin to rip that apart. The sv has a killer track suspension with other mods. it's still a sv650s and there's nothing wrong with that. I don't like the way it looks but some people do and they'd be more then willing to buy it for that much.

in this case, there is something wrong with that. being a 650 vtwin, he'll have to work harder to keep up with i4's (r6's). i remember brian saying that when he was on the track with his sv he would eat them up in the corners, just to get left behind everywhere else on the track.
