Default Header Question, and yes I've searched the threads. :)

Ok, I have a '95 civic EX d16z6 with stock exhaust right now. I took it to get inspected (Texas), and they said (their words) "Has exhaust leak on top of
silencer pipe". I know that the exhaust manifold is cracked, so I had planned on getting a header to replace the stock manifold. From searching through the threads, I think that I want to get a 4-2-1 header to increase the power in the low to mid rpm range. I also need a header that I can bolt on without taking it to an exhaust shop if possible. I take it that I need to get a 2.5" collector adapter to fit it to the stock catalytic convertor, correct? So.... Suggestions please!?!? I need this done like a month ago. The car is out of inspection.. Not good. Here are the questions:

1. Does it being lowered limit my options on the brand or type of header that I should get for the car? I don't want it to get knocked around going over bumps and *ish. If so, what brand/type should I not get?

2. I notice that there are tons of headers on ebay for my car, but most are less than $100. Are these worth it? I mean, I'm willing to spend $200 or so on the header, but if these are just as good... Here are some links to the ones that are on ebay right now.

I'm a newbie to this car, and to this forum, so I apologize for any ignorance. I've been trying to research the forum for answers, but there isn't really any specific to my questions. Thanks!

if you get 4-2-1, ride height shouldn't matter..

I wouldn't get those $30.00 or $70.00 ones, if you are going to swap your engine in the future get the cheaper one of the two dc and megan

Much appreciate the info. Do you know if it will bolt up without taking it to a shop if I get a Megan Racing 4-2-1? I read that I need to get an adapter to go from the 2.5" collector to the catalytic, so does that mean the header will bolt directly to the catalytic? If so, will that eliminate my "silencer pipe"? I think these guys were just jackasses, they wouldn't even inspect it (although it kept me from paying their $40) lol

It will bolt on right to the engine, i'm not sure if the cat is already on the exhaust manifold or after, because then you would have issues with the 02 Sensor...

Silencer pipe = Resonator

My question to you, is where is the leak?

You said manifold, they said silencer pipe?

Well, they didn't mention the leak on the manifold, I noticed that when I was changing the o2 sensor. They found a leak on top of the resonator (silecer pipe), and said that it would have to be cut out, and replaced before it would pass inspection. I haven't put the car on stands yet to take a look at the exhaust system, and it's lowered 2 inches, so I can't crawl under the car without putting it on stands. I guess that's my next move so that I can see exactly what it is I'm working with. I'm hoping that I can bolt the header on to the head, put the primary o2 sensor back in place on the header, and then bolt the header to the cat. The secondary o2 sensor is after the cat according to what I've read and heard, so hopefully that won't be an issue. I guess I just need to know if I'm looking at replacing the resonator as well as the header.
