Default SRS Light...Any Ideas?

A few days ago, I was getting ready for work and I started my car but didn't hear the chimes it does when it first starts up. About 5 - 10 seconds later the SRS light came on, chimed, then went off. It never came back on when I was driving it, but it has done it a few more times since then. What is up with that? My car is a 1997 Accord LX.

p.s.--since I always get this mixed up, what generation is my car. Sorry for such the stupid question.

does your dome light work when you open the drivers door? Or have you done anything to the seatbelt reminder?

Domelight works perfectly fine. Seatbelt reminder has not been tinkered with. I did install a car alarm about a year ago that does affect the dome light, but the problems just recently started.

Mine stays on a little longer than the others too.. Never really thought too much about it. I have a 02 v6 sedan.

BTW: You have a 5th gen. Accord.
