Home made motor mounts
So i was reading the August issue of sport compact car about their project RSX, and i saw that they made their own motor mounts. It said they just filled in the gaps of the stock ones with some 3M polyuerthane. They also say it is rally proven by Road Race Engineering. I was wondering, has anyone on here heard of this or actually done it themselves? If so what was the outcome and do you recomend it?
So i did a search on this and came up with some good stuff. I guess i now have another question regarding this. Can one also fill in other mounts or bushings with this 3M uerthane. I am thinking maybe the rear lower control arms as well as the fronts?
if you dont mind lots more vibration being transferred to the body of the car is a good way to stiffen things up. MANY people have done it. in fact I have moutns that are nearly 5 years old that this was done to.
