Default 96 H22 Tranny on 97 H22? (Auto)

Hey wuts up. I dont know too much about H22 and stuff but I have a question. I did search so please dont tell me to do that. I have a quick simple question that I really dont konw the answer too. As the title states, can a JDm (I know it has nothin to do with JDM) 96 Automatic H22 Tranny Fit on a 97 Prelude? I am asking this because I am thinkin about getting a 97 Prelude from SOmeone here on HT that is selling it. one thing is that the tranny is messed up and will need to get replaced. I have a Automatic 96 h22 tranny and would want to know if it would fit since the other tranny on the prelude is Tiptronic. thanks

Should bolt up (as long as it's not an SH), but you'll need to replace the ECU/TCU

What would I need because the reason I have the tranny is from a Swap my neighbor did on my sisters Ex boyfriends Accord. It was sittin in my drive way for like 8 months so they changed it to 5 speed because they couldnt find a TCM..
would I have to make the car obd1 since the tranny is like that?

96 is OBDII, so that shouldn't be a problem. You'd have to use the TCU from a JDM auto H22, because there was no auto H22 in the US until 97, which is Triptronic. An auto H23/F22 ECU would work just to get moving, but it will shift at 6500 instead of 7500 when you jump on it
