Default were silver & yellow crx si's limited in production?

i am a pretty observant person when it comes to crx sightings when i'm out and about, but for some reason i just realised that i rarely ever see a silver crx si or yellow, i mean i rarely see a crx si at all really, i live close to downtown dallas and i just don't see any??? its weird cause i can easily see civic hatches or civic sedans from 88-91 but crx is really getting extinct.

but i just did'nt understand how the silver and yellow si's seem to be more of a rare thing to see, is there any reason anyone knows of? (not talking about HF or DX models, i was meaning the SI more)

i think that blade silver came only in 88-89

and there is the y49 curse, so most of them are gone

I like the Silver CRX's they look good and you do not see many of them.

And I like my Y49. And I do not believe in any curse, all my friends do.

Yeah but Toad is in denial. I watched a guy trailor a y-49 to Niagara 2 weeks ago. He was only from michigan, but was affraid of the Y curse. Blade Silver is hot! I personally see y-49s all the time, but hardly ever see a blade silver car. next winter my car is getting blade silver treatment.

Oh BTW I just helped Toad change his 4 week old alternator. the curse is real. Y-49s will do one of 2 things make you broke or kill you. Granted mine makes me broke too, but tht is another problem. I'm addicted to modifications. I can't find any modifiers anonymous meetings anywhere around here either. I need someone to talk to.

Given things I've seen from the Y-curse. I wouldn't be suprised, if the trailor broke, or the tow vehicle blew up. It is real be affraid.

The curse makes it always break down, crash, get stolen and stripped or spontanious combust trapping you in a sub dimension...for real...

ahhhh story time.

so about 2-3 years ago. my gf buys a crx (our project car) Y49 in primer grey(last guy tried to cover it up : P as did we).

so about a week or so later....(she was using it for work) it breaks down. sits behind building for ..... couple weeks. tried to swap fuel filter. course the bolt wont come loose right?
end up towing it putting behidn my gf's mothers house. (i didnt know much about cars yet) sat there all winter covered in snow(you know how that Y49 loves to rust!). i tow it to my house to try and fix it... ends up a wire fell off the distributor...
well ends up the last owner msuta been under the curse because he cut them ALL! while tryng to repair everythign a NEW spark plug wire breaks in half! no bigie... i steal one from my friends LS. i notice check engine... map. 2 wires were swapped. no biggie i fix it. all of a sudden another check engine. another sensor... another..... in the end not a SINGLE sensor was actualyl wired in. no map no tps no o2 no crank angle. not a SINGLE sensor was in.... so we fix that wire it all up..... and then crank angle throws again.... wire is fine... wiggle it..... tappp it...... one day it fixes its self. no biggie :D think few days later we got a flat... replace..... again.... so i feel comfortable everything is fixed in my head.... so we boost it. it wont spool.... 3k miles on turbo.... its FINE.... wont spool. lil baby holes formed int he pipes. fix ithem. sweet.... wastegate falls off.... about 20 times... it falls off every time i fix it. drove me mad. so i setup my launch control..... going thorugh third gear it feels like i hit a brick wall.... thne cluster todl the ecu i was going 0mph (checked the log) so it activated lannch control ........ at 6krpm in 3rd 0.o..... no biggie. disable launch. driving around and limp kicks in...... throwing a crank angle.... NOTHIGN IS WRONG. check al wires everything... hwatever restart car its gone! w00t...... happens agian next day..... heck all wires... and it fixes its self..... and then the wastegate mount SNAPS in half.... build a new one.... out testing it "whats that noise" *gives it gas* "dunno but it feels good", pull over to fix the cd player. makes a weird noise(oh yeah the Y49 broke my kenwood deck... so i had to replace it) .... tap throttle... not sure what it is... soudns like a exhaust valve stuck....... drive down road tryng to figure it out. spin a U and pull in a school parking lot... tap throttle makes it again... and again.... pull off timing belt cover.. tapp it and watch the motor seize... heart drops. boosted for 2k miles and motor seized. crank angle... hit limp.... bent a rod. anyways whatever im goign to fix it..... start fixing it and ended up boreing cyl 4. say screw it and get atemp motor.... put it in no biggie... my floor jack gets stolen... and misc other parts.... who cares (oh yeah it blew up a tranny to...... for no reason) so i have ths crap 4 speed and a HF motor thats odl and beaten and abused w/ boost.(from last owner) driving down road...... and the mtoor falls out (no its not my fault).... fix it.... week or two later.... motor falls out AGAIN
.....fix it.... motor mount SNAPS.... TWICE!. i mean ridiclous i dragged my tranny on the ground lol. put a 5 speed in .... and the car wont start... after hours of fixing(i can pull a motor out in 30 put in in les than 1 hour and have it perfectly running) wont start......... get it runnin... back out drive way and it SHUTS OFF IN THE DRIVEWAY!!!! i went mad.... after 2 weeks of rewiring the entire car and replacing everything... we discover if i unplug the alternator it runs.... so we go to remove it... wadya know it is seized.... so we cut it out..... it starts w00t it drives w00t. 2 days later im driving and i couldnt get to 40mph... wheel shaked soooo bad i coudlnt even hit 40... park it...... 2 weeks later i jack it up... everythign but some wheel studs is fine. basicly nothign wrong.... been on jackstands for about 2 months now waiting for me to afford a new harness... engine... tranny... linkage.... ecu... EVERYTHING so that way .... maybe they wont be covered with the curse?

oh not to mention... the paint squeeks.... that paint... i wanna burn it... it wont stop suqeeking.... ask any y49 they have a mistery squeek in the rear.... ive also had my share of sheized hubs...... and seized ball joints..... way more than i shoulda not to mention all the flats(ON PERFECT TIRES)

i had 1 set of tires...... took off our integra.... 3k miles on it... and someone SLITS my tire at a gas station... there is a knife slit in the side... no one was around 0.o

i have endless stories of something falling off again and again .... and again. oh and the battery is great. doenst matter the terminals wont conduct.... tried everythign... multi batterys multi terminals.... sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt its COMPLETELY random

and i love hte... ide pull in a drive through and shut off the car... having no problems in weeks running perfectly fine.... i turn the key with a line behind me
end up pushign the car through the drive through once im done getting food itl start again...

I see this yellow Si crx that i "think" a woman drives as a daily driver everyday to a place local in my area close to where i live almost all the time sitting outside with other cars in the parking lot, and sometimes i see it out on the road rarely. It looks like stock paint with a extremely nice wax and buff, so it's super shiny and absolutely clean and stock.

nelsmar, I think you just bought someone's junk project. I had about the same bad luck on my last CRX... a non-y49 (has actually been about 3 colors that i can tell...none of them yellow). Not going into it, but I attribute it to me taking on someone else's hackjob...sounds about the same probs as you.

I just picked up a y49 about a month ago and (*knock on wood*) it's been the best CRX I've had yet.

yeah over payed for the car. im thankfull it broke down so much. when my gf first bought it. i didnt nkow the difference between an ratchet and a wrench. and i always wondered what a mufler was, but was afraid to ask. eh not no more 0.o i do it by the book spec and all. so it was well worth the damage, and i have emotional attachment twards the car now. so im savin up for new harness and everythign and just replacing it all.

I HAVE THE Y-49 CURSE!!!

1 Alternator went out on the way to work

2 fuel pump clip came off on the way to work that was a canfuseing night....

3 right front brake brake caliper locked up on the way to my sisters house

4 Car wouldnt start after going to a girls house to pick her up for a date...that almost made me trash the car....

5 I hit a prokupine last night the size of a dog and it broke my radiator and moved my bumper so its crooked &gt;.&lt;

The y49 curse is real!
