Default B16 overheating

I just got the B16 I swapped in running right, and finally got the radiator fan working right, but the car seems to still get too hot. It doesnt really overheat, but runs around 3\4's of the way to over heating. Anyone ever had a similar problem with the over heating and know what I can do? I took the ac out, so now the ac condensor fan doesnt work, would that fan help it at all? Is it common for the B16a1 to run hot? I have the stock 95 civic radiator, is it too small?

Sounds like a thermostat problem. The gate could be stuck (after halfcut has been sitting there for a while) and this could mean your flow through block isnt at optimum rate.

This will only get worse without a fix...

i was going through the same problems and did a little research last night overheating is when the needle reaches the red...........i know i was like WTF but it is just cause you running at 3/4 the gauge does not mean you are running too hot also i had a ridiculous amount of air in the system which can cause a pressure bubble and the temp to spike just above the t-stat housing there is a bolt looking thing with a hole in the center of it loosen it just enough to allow coolant toflow out and watch all the bubble thats the trapped air in the system......whew............anyways also if your running a dx or any single core rad at that fact trash it ....i git a GSR rad from a junk yard today for......(drumroll)...........35 dollars and it lookes new no bent fins and it came with the rad cap also when you start to overheat turn the heater oin full blast and see if the motor cools off

other possibilities
need new head gasket
rad needs to be flushed
air in the system
using to much coolant ....should be a 15% coolant and 85% water mixture (water runs cooler than antifreeze)
you said it a new t stat......what temp range B16 should be 180*-190* degrees

hope this helps
