Default new ecu new keys?

Hi, my name is shawn and i drive a 2001 prelude base, I am from Rochester ny and we recently had some flash flooding in my area. My ecu got wet and i have one on order. I have searched and cant seem to find the answer, since i am getting a new ecu do i have to get new keys or get the old one's reprogrammed? If so can a locksmith come to my house and do it or do i have to get it towed to the dealership. I wasnt sure because of the immobilizer, any help would be much appreciated. Shawn

best bet is to talk to your local dealer. I am pretty sure they aer the ones who are best able to recode your ecu to the keys.

you will be all set, the ecu will not affect the keys at all
I have swapped many ecus in my car and many friends cars and it did not make difference.

You could use the old keys. You need the dealer to reprogram your ECU so the car can start.

I found a locksmith who will come to my house and reflash my ecu to work with my current keys, hopefully this will work cause i dont want to get it towed to the stealership. I appreciate all the help and will be hanging around this forum more often. any other comments are welcome
