Default Paddle shift conversion *puts on flame proof suit*

I love HPDE and Auto-x and road course racing, its been in my blood since birth, along with drag racing, but anyway, the new paddle shift setup in the Fit Sport would be a welcome setup to the racing arena that I like...Im only starting to research the problems and pros and cons of the transmision etc...

Has anyone done this yet? Anyone here? Or for that matter, any ideas from the peanut gallery?

I WANT PADDLE SHIFT IN MY CRX!

I'm on the eventually list, and its sooner than later.....my new obsession.

1-raised center consol for support
2-paddle shift conversion
3-K24 lower K20R upper
4-10lbs boost
5-6pt autofab cage
6-full custom interior.

I'm pretty sure most the paddle shifters on the market today are "automatics" by definition. I don't think it's ever going to happen but best of luck to you.

I give you permission to figure it out. That would be a very cool mod. It would almost justify buying an automatic car.

No silly. I know paddle shifters from two places, Rally Racing, and the steering wheel joystick you bought for your PS2 when GT3 came out. On the steering wheel you have shifters that you tap with your fingers. One on the left for downshift, one on the right for upshift. They're the ****. Only problem is that YOU NEED AN ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED SEQUENTIAL TRANSMI$$ION. You can't do it with a clutch, and you can't do it with a shift rod/linkage.

why not swap a H or F series motor with a 97-01 Prelude Shift-Tronic transmission, then just rewire the up and down switches to padles on the steering wheel

i think this guy is on track the fit stuff wont be very strong you could make some great power with the lude setup and it would be cheaper and easier

Just do an EP3 shifter like I did. I just tested it last night. It worked great. Automatic trannys suck. I'm using a buddy club EP3 short shifter, all the gears worked grewat, and reverse was easy to select. I had to brace the dash a bit though, which is good, should eliminate some rattles.

Ohhh thats that thing Ferrari's have. with a switch of a button you can turn a manual car to an automatic or a paddle shifter

you can see it above the turn signals

that would be pretty cool thing to have

The prelude sequential had lots of problems.

Anyone that says honda automatics suck loses all credibility with me.

Ferarri has just about the only good sequential transmission out there. While ALL other sequential transmissions are automatic transmissions (complete with power-sucking torque converter) that simply allow you to (within limits) select the shift points, Ferarri's system is actually a manual transmission (complete with clutch) in which both the clutch and shifting can be operated automatically by a computer. I seriously don't know why this concept doesn't catch on (in spite of the fact that it is hardly difficult these days).

By the way, keep in mind that swapping any kind of automatic other than a D-series automatic is going to require some creative fabrication to both mount and fit. Automatics tend to be ALOT larger than manual transmissions.
