You aren't lying, man I can barley find a decent body shop for under $3,000 for just a simple outside repaint

Just about.

The shop that I always go to wants roughly $3k for a full paint job. Downtime is about two weeks.

so your the paint expert but you dont know how much one of these "full dips" cost?

price is going to vary greatly upod what shop, quality of work, prep, quality/coats paint, jambs/engine bay/trunk and ofcourse knowing people in a shop or people who paint also affects the price so lets say from 400-5k

Yep... maybe more, and thats IF you can find someone worthy of painting it. Around here anyway.

I'd say $3,000-4,000 for a job worth anything. I'd say for less than that you're either going to have to wait a long time or the work will be not as good.

Whoa!!!
I think you might be wrong about that. A full, (inside and out) paint job will cost a lot more than $1500. Unless your doing it yourself...
