Took the MSF
Hey guys I finally took the MSF, of course I passed. I liked the class, it was cool, luckily we were on the rane in the early morning and classroom in the afternoon compared to the other group. It was blazing hot.
The only thing I would have prefered is if they used bigger bikes instead of a 250, because during the first day people were in there saying they were getting busa, harleys, goldwing, etc...so I am just like these are big bikes. I know the 250 were better for maneuvering and stuff. I guess it makes me think people are gonna underestimate the bike when they get it.
Also I would have thought they would tell you what to do if you had to lay the bike down, and my instructor who races said there is no way to lay a bike down. I do reccomend it though. i may take the BRC II and ERC when i finally do get one. I dont have right now but I do plan on in the future.
Overall it was a good class....Just hot as hell outside. I do plan on wearing leathers, regardless of how hot...but i do see why people ride with no gear on.
I have a couple questions, wonder if you guys could answer it for me...
1-In class and in the video they said if you lock your front tire in a skid to let it go and than gradually reapply...in the video they showed this, but the guy on the bike had to be doing about 25mph and it looked like it was dirt or gravel in roadway which made it easier to slide....now realisticly, that is not gonna happen if your doing 50mph and up, because I am assuming you will end up doing an endo and flipping over the bike, amd I right?
2-Now during the swerving lesson, where your doing 2 counter steers, 1 to get out the objects way and another to get back in your lane in travel, in class where only doing about 15-18mph, now if your on the road doing 40 and up wouldnt you end jerking your bike or possibly flipping it...or is it gonna be practice and knowing your bike.

I honestly agree with people riding the bike they have or plan on buying. I think they would see it isn't as easy to maneuver as those 250's. I was on my gsxr 600 and it was alot harder then them dam 250's to do the figure 8
1. no doin an endo or stoppie is a lot harder than ppl think. you can grab a handful of the front brake and just slide. that happened to my cousin yesterday when he was trying to do a stoppie, perfect ground no gravel and was only going about 25
2. flipping your bike? i think not. just get a feel for your bike and youll know how it handles. on my r6 i can swerve going faster, of course its gonna take more than the 3 ft that they give you
