Default 1988 4 spd transmission swap

my friend doesn't have that much cash, and Her transmission is dead. Its the 4 speed manual. I'm doing the work in my garage.

Will a 5 speed cable tranny from a 90-91 civic fit this D15B motor? (1988 civic hatchback) or am I stuck w/ the 4 speed?

thanks in advance

the 90-91 transmission will bolt to the engine, but you will need to swap the clutch disc for one from 89

Yea upi need a new disk but might aswell change the clutch if it is stock or hasn't been changed for a while

Hmm...been thinking about it isn't the flywheel different too? I'm B series now and haven't delt with D's for a while
