i have an 89 crx si and i have the stock sohc non vtec d16a and i spun a rodbearing, so i got someone offerin me a d16z6 full swap for my car but i dont know too much about the motor except that its vtec... just wonderin if any of you guys could give me some info on it... would i need to change my axels??? i dont think so cuz its a simular motor just vtec right??? i know a good bit about honda motors but im in he dark on this one... would it be a better swap than a b16??? any info would help a great deal... thanks guys

 

the d16z6 is a good cheap swap. I just put one into my 91' rex. The axles will work since you keep your transmission. I went obd1 and bought a p28 ecu, obd1 dizzy, obd1 550cc injectors, and conversion harness since I was going turbo.

 

k i wasnt too sure... i mean i know alot about the b series and k series motors and i know my motor like the back of my hand, but i wasnt too sure bout this swap.... i know im not going boost any time soon, as nice as that would be... but i needed some info fast cuz i cant have my baqby sittin outside lookin how he is right now for much longer its driving me insane... i heard the d16z6 was a good swap, but wanted some more input before iwent through with it.... how much more horsepower do you think ill be puttin down if i went with the b16??? the b16 is only a block though, so im leaning more towards the z6 cuz its a full swap... even though i know that in the end the b16 will own the d16 stock for stock and mod for mod.... or will it???

b16=160/170hp
yes stock v stock or mod v mod the b16 will win
but the z6 is a good cheap swap
i have one in myu rex but im still obd0 with a pr3 ecu
a z6 with i/h/e in a rex will hang with b16's alll day long
