This is from a 99-00 si b16a2. I just recently taken out my tranny to fix up my flywheel. when I installed everything back on and tried plugging the cables back into the battery it sparks up. for instance if the negative is plug and when trying to plug the positive it sparks up or if I do the other way it sparks up too. There is no metals touching each other on the battery. I'm guessing its the starter but I'm not sure. A little help will be great.

Oh yea. will any b-series starter work?? it has to be from a obd2 though right??

 

Whats sparking?....the poles where you touch the cables?.

Do you have the battery on right?....Are you trying to connect the positive cable to the positive pole.....make sure of this ....it will save you a lot of headache. Connect the positive pole first, and then the negative. make sure that your grounds are connected.

 

Everything is on right. Nothing is backward or anything. It just weird that when everything went back into place the positive cable just sparks when touching the battery and if the positive is on and try touching the negative the cable sparks on the negative. Either way it sparks. Have no clue. When the starter is out of the tranny it doesn't spark when touching the battery, only when its install into the tranny. Yes everything is grounded. The tranny and the battery. Well all that work i think i blew up my starter so going to try a new starter to find out. but if anyone know any other way let me know. Thanks.
