should i do a 2.5" collector mod on a megan header?

i installed it about a year ago and i don't know what the current collector size is. i was wondering if i should do this or get another header.

i am trying to save some money and was wondering at the type of gains i might expect.

i am running stage 2 cams if that helps

Only do it if you have already maximized your current exhust system. i.e. a high flow cat, mandrel bent tubing, and a straight flow thru muffler, all of which sould be 2.5 inch or larger to get the most gains from the collector mod. All of these items should go hand in hand to see any significant gains.

sry, but what does this mean?

and i currently have a flowmaster muffler with 2.5" catback piping....if i maxamize my exhaust could i expect to gain 5-6whp?? over my current setup. i hate to guess about gains but i just want an average gain to see if it is worth it.

i currently dyno at 171.2 whp with the setup i have now.

thanks

mandrel bent tubing is like what pre-fabed (tanabe, apexi, etc) exhaust systems use to maximize the flow of their systems. They stick an uncrushable tube inside the pipe and then bend it to avoid crushing it, hence the term crush bent tubing. Its pretty much done to avoid reducing the diameter of the tubing at the bends which equals better flow.

I think the collector mod along with a 2.5 inch cat to match will give you around the 5-6 range and maybe more with a good tune.
