driving around with no fans, how good of an idea is this?
well my radiator is cracked, w00t im on my 3rd one now, I thought it was just because I was driving it really hard on a regular basis so I ordered a koyo aluminum realy shiney radiator and decided to drive lightly until it came.
I now have the radiator, and I'm waiting on slim line fans, but the other night as I was walking to my front door it hit me that the fan was not on... and thinking about it for a sec I couldn't remember that last time I had heard a fan on after I had shut the car off
... the ac fan works but the other one does not... so i now have a koyo radiator and no slim line fans. However my current radiator has gotten pretty bad and i need transportation sooo i was thinking about putting in the koyo with no fans and just not using the ac... figuring it'd be just like driving around with a broken fan.
or is that just a really dumb idea?

You'll be fine when you're driving, but when you're sitting still your temp is just going climb, climb, climb.......
i understand that the temp is going to rise when im stoped but seeing as the fan isn't working, isn't that my current situation anyway? and putting the ac fan on the other side... i think i'll give that a try.
thanx

Actually, since they release heat quicker... they do heat up quicker also... it's the beauty of heat transfer. This is especially true without a fan. The reason you believe they "don't heat up as quickly" is because the air flow takes the heat away faster on an aluminum radiator... but if you don't have a fan =\
If you use your AC fan, you'll be much better off. A little bit of work can save you the money and hassle of buying yet another radiator.

I dont think they are supposed to work after you turn the car off.
