They are almost the same, but if you use the ecu that came from the car you are getting the engine from you stand to gain 22 hp. Also try and get the tranny too, its a much better upgrade.

Engine, Tranny and ECU would be what I would try and snag from his car. Other than that you wouldnt need anything.

this couldnt be a more perfect first swap to do. it all will work without modification. and you get much more familiar with whats going on under that hood. this is pretty much the same way i got started on toyota trucks 10 years ago. learn how it all works, then modify the hell out of it!

Why are you taking that out? Do you mean you can't get the black boot around it off? It takes some WD40 and a little tugging. Just don't pull on the wires to get it off. The boot will slide off.

we need to get it off so the motor will come out, its part of the wire harness. im pretty sure that is the last thing we need to get off so we can pull the motor.

Corrosion and age cause it to "stick" on there, you can get a flat head or some pliers and try wiggling it off or budging it off, once you do that keep doin light pulls on it and it should pop right off.

I cut the rubber boot off and unplugged to two sensors individually.

Just switch yours over to the other motor going back in, they are the same motor... the bolt pattern is the same, the motor size is the same, the same is the SAME.
