Default Chevy Rev It Up Orange County! Who's going?

Hey guys!

Just thought I'd bring something up here. Your invitation to a cool event!

I'm working the Chevy Rev It Up event down in the OC next weekend and I thought it would be cool if some Honda people would show up and check out the courses and get your drive on! Come on out and say hi, get some laps in and maybe enter into the competition event and try to de-throne our index pro driver, Jason Hart!

If you are interested in wheeling some Cobalt SS', Corvette's and other SS models, check out the web site. http://www.revitupracing.com/ maybe even sign up online and come have some fun!

There are also events happening in other parts of the country, so, if the OC is not your neck of the woods, I hope an event is coming to your area!

Let them know I've invited you!

See you there!

Damn Roger, they want $50 for us to come drive their stuff. You got a promo code or a H-T handshake or something?

PS: For those who have never been on base at El Toro, its pretty cool. Go now before they tear it down and turn it into a park. (I wish I were kidding. Could be a perfectly good commercial airport, and my brilliant neighbors of the OC voted to turn it into a park. Bastards.)

Wow, don't they hold autocross events regularly at that site?

Only charging for the national competition event, hot laps in the Z06 and the go kart deal. The rest of the driving elements are free. Hey, I think you even get some food at the event! You know... the last time I went to an indoor go kart track it ended up costing me over $100 for an hour or so of driving. Plus the fact they charge for water and other snacks. So, I think the fun factor to value is very well priced.

Hey, I'm going to try and put a program together where a portion of the fee's are diverted to my race program. Then I'll see who will step up and help keep me in a race car. Who's in?

Now that I know it's free, I would definately try and make it down. I went to a toyota one and it was cool. This sounds sweet as hell if we get to drive a corvette.

There's just no way it would become a commercial airport. They didn't have the pipeline setup for brining in fuel so it would need to be trucked in. Have you ever seen the amount of traffic there is in South OC as it is? Imagine all the extra trucks coming and going to/from an commercial airport.

Not to mention no FAA pilot wanted to have the risk of flying over the Santa Ana mountains, then dropping in sharply over the airport to land. Coming in at any other angle would have placed them a couple thousand feet above houses (i.e. MY HOUSE! ) and you know that's not going to fly (pun intended).

Anyway back on subject. A little short on the notice, but I'll have to see about making it out there (its 10 min from my house), and yes, it is a really cool place to see and to autox. There is talk about saving one of the 1940's hangars and turning it into an air museum in the park.
