Default 5th gen H22 with an automatic upgrading head is it safe?

I have an automatic and i am doing a head upgrade with the pro series stage 2 im not really looking for a lot of gains but do you think it will work or mess up my engine. can you help me? I am porting the head also skunk valves with crower springs and retainers, adj camgears, cold air intake, skunk2 intake, headers and skunk2 exhaust, high flow cat, and trottle body also by skunk. Is there a way to tune all this on an obdII ecu automatic 5th gen prelude.

Does anyone have a automatic or an answer to this. Just want to cruse without shifting and want some horsepower when needed.

Do you have a ss? WOW! I suppose you could do head work with an auto tranny but you would be losing so much power you might be working against yourself. If theres anyway you can stand it, get a 5 speed.

Contact VSBB6. He went from an auto to a 5 speed and says its one of the best modifications he has done.

Also, if you built your head with an auto, it would be a pita to tune, IMO.

If you are not sure if you want a 5 speed or not, just do some basic upgrades but do it right. Get a 2.5 cat back exhaust, a high flo cat... good headers (SMSP).

Sports shift. For tuning you would need a P28 ecu, I believe with proper base maps. I do not know if Hondata or Neptue can tune with autos.

Here on H-T? No charge! I cannot stress how important it is to take the time to read the links/threads in the essential links: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/689805 There is a wealth of information contained there.

Just read a lot, research and ask questions.

in all honesty man. The auto tranny just doesnt put up with power output, believe me....i had one and had the tranny rebuilt twice. I just had minor I/h/e and a 50 shot. Whats really nice about the auto is that you can make it an awesome car to drive with a nice suspension and nice wheels. Kinda like a mad tight JDM yo cruiser
