Default H22 Lag Through Low RPMS (0k - 4k!) Need Help!

Just finished my h22a swap in my ek civic! Second time this motor is dropped in this car but this time it is fully rebuilt. Not built, rebuilt. Motor has a clean idle after warming up, and the ecu is throwing no codes at all. I am running a chipped P28 ecu. But for some reason the car feels like it has no power at all. In the lower RPM range it seems to have some kind of lag on it. When you drive the car you can feel the motor trying to push but it just lags. Anybody have any familiar problems like this that can help me? Or have any ideas? Motor only has about 80 miles on it!

Please Help!!

Out of curiosity, did you get a chance to drive the H22a in a car before the swap? Probably not...

Can you be a little more specific with the problems?

Yes I did, this motor has been mine for about 3years.. Did a complete rebuild after having problems with it for awhile. Motor should be pulling alot harder then it is doing now. Trying to figure out why it is laggin, car just seems to lag on take off and during second gear. Car sort of jumps in a sputter way, cant seem to explain it right

mine does it, particularly when cold on part throttle, feels like the ignition is being pulled.

Same problem here, not too extreme but I notice it. I had a egr cel, cleaned the valve, feels slightly better. Am going to clean out the metering ports in the intake manifold next weekend, from what I've read, that should help a bit as well.

Im sure they did (not sure if have to do this for the p28) when they set your ignition timing on the dyno did they jump the plug to adjust the timing. Get a timing light and check your timing it should be at 15 at a base idel,if its lower like 14 thats your probelum.

well check it, drive the car, it'll feel very jerky, keep drivin, see if it overheats, if it does i am almost cetain it is the cat. since there is not enough flow out, all that hotness stays in and causes more stress on hte motor.
Well you can try that, it might be your ecu, swap ecus and see the problem still remains.

how about you try a stock or jdm p13 (they are the same ****) in good working conditions and see how it goes? cause if it turns sluggish with a p28 right before the vtec point, then theres something wrong. is this p28 chipped? if so what is it chipped with? crome? uberdata? neptune?(not sure if thats teh name)

i have a bad p13, a p13 stock, a p13 jet chipped, p14, and a p28 chipped with crome. the bad p13 of course didnt start ****, the stock runs the car wack, the p13 jet chipped runs a bit better, when i had the p14 it ran good, the p28 burned my map sensor... so stick with a p13 for now, thats what i'm doing

i had a p13 when i originally got the motor swap, the reason i went with a p28 was because the shop i went to said i couldnt chip the p13. I am not running a egr and I forget what else. They are both cancelled out on the p28

The p13 made the car run not to good when I had it!

so thats a stock p28 with just the egr canceled? are you running the basemaps of the p13? if not then you gotta have them or else your car is gonna run like a civic... LOLLLLLLLL
Go back to your shop and ask them what kind of chipset did they use? i hope they use crome pro since you have datalog it and test run it outside the car without having to put your car at risk.
