Default b17 spec question

i am about to get a b17 and was wondering if it was the same as a b16 block with a different crank or a b18 block. the only reason i was wondering is because i was told i could put the b18 crank in it to make a 1.8. also i was looking at a stroker kit and i needed to know the block deck height to know which kit to get. also if anyone knows anything about the head compared to the b16 ob18c. thanks for your help.

its not the same as the b16 block because the b17 has more torque then the b16.

most builders use the b17 crank on a b16 block to make a it a stroker.
but the head remains just like the b16 head.
