1 - i hope you have a **** load of money
2 - if you asking how to do it then your not going to do it, the only people who do swaps this crazy do not ask other people where to start or how to do it
3 - waste of time and money and it will handle like *** because a crx is way to short of a chassis to handle a powerful rear drive motor
4 - i doubt you even have an S2000 drivetrain

'Cause this one is hella funny! :D

Let's see, how can this be done?
Step 1: Measure the S2K drivetrain.
Step 2: Realize that the S2K stuff is too long. Make a custom short-short driveshaft to get the length right.
Step 3: Cut the Rex to shreds trying to fit the drivetrain.
Step 4: Weld up a bunch of support structure (e.g., tube frame it!) to hold the S2K drivetrain parts.
Step 5: Realize that this was a really stoopid idea in the first place, tow the Rex to the junkyard and sell the S2K stuff to someone who can actually use it...

done the measurements, need to cut the firewall and replace driveline, but the exhaust channel is big enough for the driveline, rear sits wide but theres plenny of room w/o the stock rear, front will have a custom subframe conected to the shock towers, anyone have tips on strengthening the unibody at the firewall to suport the trans w/o a full cage?

been thinking im gonna make a whole undercage and set the car on top.

So you have an s2000 drivetrain but not the engine? Were you planning on using that drivetrain with a CRX engine? Here, I'll save you some time: take all your money, put it in a pile, set it on fire, and forget about this project. There, now you're out all your money, but at least you haven't wasted your time.

Your name fits you.

With a plasma cutter, a welder, and some fabrication skills.

you host a honda-tech party at your house...
buy lots of beer, and invite everyone to
bring your own welder.

Another option would be to just do the swap. Take lots of pics, and post them back here when you're done. That way you can laugh at us for being such chickens--ts and not being able to see how easily you could do it!

Hey, someone finally got the NSX drivetrain into a Rex... And someone finally did the AWD Rex, too! So don't let us tell you "it can't be done"--but it's gonna be a whoooooooole lotta work!! And if you get it done, you'll probably be the first, so there isn't a whole lot of advice to offer on how to do a successful swap.

yeah it would horrible if the crx's frame was wrecked by all of that crazy torque form the f20c

i dont think that its impossible to do this swap at all. i could even venture a guess as to how you would do most of it. but you have to understand that every two days some other dumbass who has no idea how to fabricate anything thinks that he is the first person who has ever thought of this amazingly brilliant idea, and he comes on here to ask for advice and he expects to be greeted by people who will instantly proclaim him to be the jesus christ of hondas and throw rose petals before his feet as he is led toward a gold encrusted room filled with all of our virgin daughters who are so impressed with his wonderfully original idea that they will all fight for the opportunity to swallow the seed of such a great visonary.

if you are smart enough to pull this off then i would assume that you are smart enough to know that there isnt some magic recipe or secret advice to make this work.

if you actually understand what it takes to do something like this then you would not expect some answer like "well the last time i swapped an f20c into a first gen crx i used the left motor mount from an 87 nissan 300zx and the u joint from a bmw 2002"

come on man. no one has experience doing this. its not a common thing to do, and no matter how cheap you may have gotten the parts for it will cost a good deal of money to do this correctly and more importantly than that you will need to be able to cut and weld the chassis to accept such a swap and you will need to

again, im not saying it cant be done, im just saying that you dont sound like someone that can do it, but rather you sound like yet another self proclaimed super fabricator rice boy with a magnificent vision of swapping this thing in like playing with legos.

maybe im wrong. maybe you should prove me wrong.

i've got twenty bukcs that says you are never going to do this and that this thread will die and that you are just atlking out of your ***.

any takers?

i cant think of a better way to lose twenty bucks

Buy an s2000, drop the driveline in it.

Graft the EF front end onto the s2000, and graft the roof on it too for kicks.

Still wasted a bunch of money, but it will be structurally sound, a lot easier, and safer.

Only worry will be the front end flapping off in the wind.

... but if you'd do me a favor and drop a Jseries into an EF and post up a DIY on how ya done it i'd appreciate it.

hondahatertech at it's best. If someone can "fabricate" a huge blown v8 into the bay of a crx...

do it. the car would mash on everything around. sleeper, sort of... you'd still have the WIDE tires in the rear.

****?? If this guy had any idea of what he was doing he would not post a stupid thread just so everyone could flame him not to mention that he certainly shouldn't need any of our advice if he is truly capable of this. He would have it done then post the thread with proof.

This will not happen! even if he did somehow pull it off it will be a complete waste of time and money.

Someone even considering doing this would have to have metal frabrication experience aswell as mechanical, and if he does then he would NOT be asking us ''people who have never done this'' how to do it or asking us for tips!

That would be like a surgeon whos never done heart sugery asking a nurse for tips or advice ... The nurse has never done it before! A surgeon wouldnt ask! why is this guy asking!?
