I know this has probably been posted once sorry, but how do you install a short shifter adapter. I know you take apart your console which i have already done and undo the bolt that connects the cable to the shifter. Do you just put the thin end of the adpater in the shifter and connect the cable to the other end? sorry this sounds dumb but i dont want to expletive my car up.

 

You install it by selling it on eBay and buying a true short shifter.

they get the job done, but can mess up your synchros. if a 40 dollar adaptor is worh 400 dollars to you, then by all means...use it.

How can they mess up your syncros? i have a fidanza shortshifter adapter and i actually am not sure if i trust it fully. as for my syncros they are shot in second gear so no worries on ruining them further. i have to buy a new tranny. Speaking of that do any of you guys know where i can get a cheap on. i live in edmonton so shipping is a bit of a concern. thanks (i think im going to buy the 4bidden ss)

it messed up my sycros in 3rd and 5th

it isnt a very solid shift and when bangin gears out it doesnt always go into 3 and 5 solid... i hated the DC sold it and got FM.

Nothing against the Forbidden Shortshifter or anything.. But there are two that are true.. There is another, but I can't remember exactly the name... Lean or something..
But I believe they re-use the stock shifter assembly piece instead of compeletly remaking it..

Forbidden & the PSpec Shortshifters are good products..

Search through the Prelude Section on them, you'll find a lot of these threads.. With opinions on both the previously mentioned Shortshifters as well as opinions on the Shortshift "Adaptors."

What the heck?!? Where did you get that information??

Forbidden makes one for '92 - '96 (4th Gen) and the '97 - '01 (5th Gen) is in testing stages...

Wrong info. The Forbidden SS is for 92-96 Ludes.

 

Didn't know about the pspec...obviously 9/10 people on here with 4th gens will agree on the FM SS...the pspec does look like a good product tho, and if cheaper, why not?

Since its 1 of apparently 2 short shifters out there for 4th gens, I would say yes, 80-90% of the people out there would reccomend it lol....I have only heard great responses to them...
