Default How much will an intake help performance?

My friend just bought an integra. Its completely stock and he was looking for a cheap boost in performance. Does anyone know how much hp and if you can actually feel the difference?

It will really do nothing to power, maybe 2 HP, but it will sound nice and deep, and may make the car more enjoyable for him to drive, so just GET IT!!

you won't notice any feeling in performance with only the couple extra hp you'll get.

ive noticed that no one realizes that using an intake provides alot more than you think!! if you really think about how and engine works and what makes it better one of the first things you would think about are letting it breath better the better the breathing the better the power remember SUCK,SQUEEZE,BANG,AND BLOW. the more you provide to those the better your engine breathes. using an aftermarket intake is a good enough start.

well there will be no improvement from the breathing mods if there is no need for them yet due to the fact that there is no improvement of the car's power to require more air. so if you put a 5inch intake with a 10 inch exhaust it will make more power since it let the motor breath better? the answer to that is no!

cheap upgrades don't exist. If you want to feel any noticable gains you have to put the money down. Most people start with intake header exhuast if your goin N/A. For turbo just turbo and tune it. research

do your basic mods. intake, header, exhaust. itll sound nice, and give it alil more go. not much tho. I would say get type-r cams with an intake or a drop in filter, but thing is what model is your buddies integra? and which motor..? if its an LS... u cant put b series vtec cams in there. if hes got an LS, now adays ploppin a b16 vtec head on there is a nice thing to do for cheap

Here's what you do... pick five random threads on the integra forum... one of them will have this question in it since it is asked several times a day.... then you will scroll down and find that the answer is. " CHEAP FAST RELIABLE YOU CAN ONLY HAVE TWO"

You will also find that i/h/e do very little. Best power boosts for your buck = n2o or a turbocharger.
