pistons or cams?
in my gsr, i can get my hands on the itr pistons or the itr cams. if you could only swap one, which one would you do? and how come? what would be more beneficial in a stock gsr with some boltons(4-2-1 header, cai, power pully,)?
if a had my choice...
i would get the itr cams!!
the reason why is beacuse.....the gsr head has GREAT compression....
and with the itr cams...you'lll get a better PULL!

i would pick the cams since its the easiest to do, plus you'll get decent gains.
putting in pistons would be good to, but that means ripping the bottom end apart and putting everything back and checking bearing clearances, honing, etc. very time consuming.

how easy is it to install the cam, dont you have to time it or something? I am going to get my timing belt changed soon and wanted the mechanic to do it for me, how much would it cost?

I wouldn't recommend doing that because the belt may have a little sretch in it. But I would definitely change it anyway and check the water pump too. If there is coolant residue around the openings on the pump then change it. Overall The belt I would def change and check the pump But even still I would change both.
As for the cams did you get jdm cams or usdm type r cams. I hope you know there isn't much difference between the gsr and type r exhaust cams but maybe a degree or 2 and that's all. you'll see the change with the intake type r cam and tuning

the only time it would stretch is if its in need of replacement...ive used that method before because noway in hell am i going to install a new TB when the last one had like 100 miles on it and i could still feel the ridges on th inside of the belt...in other words...brand spanking new belt

Defintly get the cams. Retensioning the belt shouldn't be a big deal. But if you are uncertian when it was replaced replace it anyways. I just got all the belts, water pump, tensioner, for like $240 with a set of spark plugs, so its not a huge expense.
