Default valve adjustment

hey whats up guys i was wondering if u over tighten ur valves what could happen will it affect the performance of the car i got skunk2 stage 2 pro series cams and skunk said to do it 7 and 8 but my friend did it 6 and 7 now the car feels slower maybe its in my head but idk just wondering

I know if U get them too tight U can burn a valve. That would suck.

so this wouldnt effect the performance of the car correct? and how do u know if they are too tight?
