Plans for the future swap
Hello civic fans,
I've got a 91 dx 4 door with a 92 horsepower motor. The engine is on its way out. At this point I am 99.9% sure that the smoke is from worn rings, i've considered everything else. I plan on topping off the oil for a year or two (maybe a can of restore).
FUTURE idea for a swap
If i swapped a new engine in, maybe in a year or two, i'm thinking of swapping in MultiPointFuelInjection also.
Question: Upgrading to MPFI would NOT be that much extra $ if i was doing a swap anyway, right?
I'm thinking that swapping to a 1.5 to a 1.6 w/MPFI would be a relatively inexpensive swap that could get me up from 92 HP to above 110 HP. (i know, some of you think this is still very slow)

Question: Upgrading to MPFI from Dual Point would NOT be that much extra $ if i was doing a swap anyway, right? Meaning if they charged me 650 for the labor on the engine swap they might charge me about 700 for swap that included a MFPI, right?
Please advise. Thank you
Please advise. Thank you
get a d16a6 (mpfi 1.6l) and they go in just like the 1.5 did. By a conversion harness from rywire and you will be good to go. You can make your own but since your paying a shop I think this is your best way.
