Default camshafts

i have a 96 gsr with just an aem v2 intake. i wanna make more power and i heard that camshafts is the way to go. im thinking about getting stage 1 or itr ones.
if i replace my cams, what else will i need to replace and how much will it be total.

was thinking about going ihe first but i heard camshafts will produce more power.

skunk2 stage 1s are a nice cam they are a tiny bit larger tehn 00-01 ITR and CTR cams, however u will need some sort of engine management with those cams(even though it is somewhat of a suttle change in A/f ratio, u can get away with a VAFC (i don't really recommend the VAFC), and just alter the vtec engagement point...

With that said i would first start with your h/e and maybe a skunk2 intake mainfold and then throw the cams in there u will feel a nice gain

thanks for the input.
i guess ill get the headers next(dc 4-1) manifold(probably blox or skunk2 pro) then exhaust (greddy evo2)
i wanna get the exhaust last cuz that stands out the most and i have enough tickets already.

before i went to boost, i had this set up skunk2 stage 1 cams, skunk2 intake, hondata gasket, comptech header, comptech ice box, apexi n1, vafc 2, aem 5 bolt adj cam gears, which seems u are going in the same direction u will get nice gains from that set up...

the greddy exhuast is legal and it is not that loud, u can also go with an rsr exhuast which are really quite but give u the performanace

on the header i would look around more d/c is an okay header, i would maybe look for a higher quality one

Not on a Stage 1 upgrade, stage 2 or higher yes. I have the blox type A's which are supposed to be very similar to the Skunk stage 2s. You will need engine management and I was able to get my car chipped and tuned with Crome for roughly $150.

I think cams are a great investment and will give you the most bang for the buck without going turbo. If you are planning on I/H/E and IM too, I'd get all of that stuff first because it doesn't necessarily need to be tuned, but once you drop in cams you definitely need to be tuned.

i got some ITR cams for sale if u interested. $270 for them. u dont need upgraded valvetrain, just keep your rev limiter at 8k and you'll be fine. just remember to change the vtec X over higher to avoid bogging. a skunk2 manifold would be nice along with it too
