newzealand jdm and b18 crx are excluded from answer because I already know their "firm" opinions

Im thinking maybe if it was -10 degrees outside maybe....But normal conditions i dont see how.....I know if you ran no header at all you can mess up the valves.....

I think he should change his question to -

''If you run a big exhaust will it damage valves''

Considering he was saying that it would and since everyone asked him to explain it and he wouldnt ... now he can.

Dont try to bullshit your way out of it Mavrick and make out you were saying open headers would damage an engine because you didnt! you said a big exhaust would, refraze the question please.

Running open header under "normal" conditions will not damage your motor.
(I am referring to open header, not open exhaust ports from the head to nothing...which will damage your valves)

This is correct.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by NewZealandJDM &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I think he should change his question to -

Using exhaust piping that is too big will actually slow the velocity of the gases and increase backpressure, which is a bad thing.

Always use the proper exhaust size for your engine.
