Default Retro-fit progress

Well last weekend i got started on my retro-fit project on my spare headlights, i'm using the HID projectors from a new Maximum, this is about as far as i have gotten so far, tomorrow morning i'm mounting the drivers headlight on the car to check the see the alignment, aslong as everything is good i'll be doing a shroud next to go around the projector.

the maxima use's just one regular D2R , how it use's teh high beam is by incorporating a shutter for the high beam, once you turn your high beams on the shutter opens, which permits more light to shine through the projector thus resulting in a high beam look without having to produce more power or wattage, rather a great idea for those of use with FIT's.

in other words, no it's not a bi-xenon projector.

very cool. I'm interested to see how this comes out; as well as what the final cost will be for this project.

daamn man that looks soooo nice i just slapped some hid's on my car and its not that bad. at what temp did u put the oven @ 2 get the glue 2 come apart. was it difficult to take apart the headlight cuz of the size of it? Ive baked headlights before (HID retrofit in my mom's 98 camry) but since u cant see the projectors on that it was okay for it 2 not look perfect.

Here's the driver's side test mounted, ofcourse the drivers side is the test subject here, and yeah you can really notice tthe difference from teh left and right against the wall.

now that i've done this, i'm going to try to reset the projector up a little more to get a bit higher aim, once i've gotten that done i'm going to work on the shroud next.

I finished making the template for the shroud, just used some thick paper board, now tomorrow i'm going to lowe's to get either a thin sheet metal, or a soft plastic like what the headlights are made of, also used a honda coffee mug top as a ring to cover the end of the projector to give a bit of brush aluminum look around it.

Thanks for the updates, please show what you have done with the shroud.

What is the purpose of the shroud btw? more focus?

The shroud is mainly for aesthetics. It may help prevent stray light and UFO patterns though.

Umm, that is the definition of a bi-xenon projector.
