New Problem, rubbing/grinding... certain rpms
Ok, heres the problem. When I take off in first when I pass around 2000 rpms I hear like a rubbing. Like the sound when your backing plate is rubbing your rotor... almost exact sound but its not that, and it changes through out the rpm range. First gear it will start at 2000 rpms until about 5000 rpms then I think it stops (loud car). In 2nd and 3rd when I hit 3000 rpms it stops but once it hits 4000 rpms it starts again. 4th gear is about the same, 5th I have no idea, too damn loud. I had about 5 min today at work to check it. I opened the hood and rev'd using the throttle. It sounds like it's coming from the tranny area, could be wrong. Any idea?
Also just to add it does it in neutral also, so the car doesnt have to be rolling.

Damn, any idea how long I can drive before it makes it gets bad enough where I can't drive it at all?
EDIT: I thought the throw out bearing only made noise when you pressed the clutch in? Because it suppose to sit idle when released. When I press it in it goes away?

no at idle and in neutral the throw out bearing is free spining when u depress the clutch (as u do when u shift gears ) the throw out bearing stops spining to engage the gear. So in a nut shell if it goes away when u depress the clutch i can guarentee its a throw out bearing. and if it is making noise when your driving that means its getting REALLY bad mine makes noise at idle in neutral but not when im driving. good luck
