Vacation question: car stuff to visit in Ft-Lauderdale/Miami area?
Hi all,
I'm driving down to Florida, leaving tomorrow, I was wondering what worthwhile car-related attractions I might find. I've already been to the Daytona museum in the past. Otherwise, I don't think I'll be able to go see any actual racing since I'm arriving and leaving on Satrudays. Any ideas, like a gigantic race shop or race museum or something? Thanks

Adult Toy Store in FTL comes to mind for your exotic car viewing pleasure...
Friday afternoon there's a big car show of sorts at Tower Shops. Something like 500 cars every friday evening, I think they do have actually judged competition there on certain dates but there's a wide variety of cars there. Everything from original Oldsmobiles steered with a swiveling handle on a pole, old Duesenbergs to fully restored 50s Studebakers up through import ricecars, exotics and whatnot. Generally it's just a big car fanatic get-together and everyone is pretty cool and willing to talk about their machinery. WWI-era military trucks are pretty cool too!
You might want to look this up, but I'm pretty sure you take 595West to University Blvd. take a left at the end of the ramp, and Tower Shops will be down maybe a mile on the left. You can't really miss the number of "cool" cars going there.
There's a good outdoor kart track there as well in Opa Locka, Mega Racing runs rental karts there. Usually $20 or so a race for 5 min. qual and 15 min race I think. I think their website is mega-racing.com

To tell you the truth theres no much racing wise. Besides events at certain tracks there's no museum or anything of that nature. You maybe able to find a few hangouts here and there but those are usually filled with ricers and mad tyte' street racerzzz...
Grand Prix its right off of I-95 its a lot of fun they have a dirt track, oval, and a big roadcourse. THe karts are slow but its still a load of fun
