hi... i recently supposedly had my igniter fail... so i got new distributor cheap from a friend that work at an auto supplier. i got a new cap and i used the same rotor.. put everything on right.. turn the key, car comes on for about 20 seconds.. reving high... lil bit of white smoke smelling like gas come out the exhaust, and the car turns off. try turning it on again... car turns on, then turns right off...let the car sit for an hour, car does the same thing... the car doesnt have a chance to even warm up. this sounds like something really stupid... anyone have any ideas?

 

try out a different dizzy. Might be the coil.
