Default How much weight savings with Half sized radiator?

Just as the title says how much weight will you save with the half sized radiator compared to the OEM integra one...also how about the ITR radiator...it is slimmer and lighter too but by how much. (weights differences with radiators full of coolant)

its not any wieght different you would even notice

people run the half cores mostly to fit larger turbo's on their motors

With half the fluid, and metal missing you would not see 10-15lbs lighter??

weigh a normal radiatop and then divide it in half and that should be a rough estimate of when it will be

Wow I find it hard to believe that no one has thought of or weighed the radiator before...

I bet it would be a great form of weight reduction...

I found that the ITR is about 5 lbs lighter that LS/GSR but that is all I can find, info on the half sized would be great.

duh!!!! This is what race car designers figured out a long time ago... aluminum radiators, smaller, slimmer: excellent way to make your car more efficent.

YES: half sized radiator is a good direction, every little bit helps when it comes to modding. Aside from swapping the motor or FI, all mods to cars are generally "minor" but add up in the bigger picture

Could you run a eg hatch's stock raditator? They're pretty much half the size of ours. Would it still cool the same? I like the look a lot more, its a much cleaner look and seems like it would still cool decently

see..you think. only 15 lbs. but add up all the other weight reduction you can do. shavin a 100 lbs off a car is pretty good. and is very feasible.

Is the eg rad a direct bolt up? I'd assume you'd have to run less coolant. Also, would the stock teg rad fan bolt up?

people have and do use the eg radiator. Ususally for tubro'd tegs do to the increase of room given by switching to the smaller radiator. It works fine.

Its going to be 2-3 pounds max. The full size is only one row where as most half sized that you would run are 2 row. If you hold both tere is not much difference at all. The fluid capacity is very close also. A full radiator doesnt even weight 15 pounds, so I dont know where you guys plan on losing that much weight.

I wish I had gotten a Fluidyne Civic radiator instead of my Integra one. It's pretty cramped down there, although a slimmer fan will help.
