Hi folks,

I got myself a pretty good deal on an ACT clutch kit including a pressure plate and throwout bearing so I took it although many people told me ACT clutches were eating up the differencial bearings pretty fast...

I DIDN'T LISTEN!!!

So the other day I notice the tranny's making some noise, we didn't open it yet but every mechanic I know/respect that have driven the car all come to the same conclusion before I even told them I had an ACT clutch... and I dont have any problems shifting, I changed my cheap 10w30 oil for some Honda MTF yesturday, and added something for the gears that makes the oil thinker.. .anyways...

FINALLY: Question is, can I take my damaged bearings, go to a bearing shop and have some bearings with the same proportions done, then machined to be heavy duty so it doesn't happen again or at least lasts longuer?

dang i havent heard any bad things about act. i would really like to know some more info i am about to install a act when the turbo goes in. bump for some more info

 

i have had act for a long time street and 6 puck for 5 years, i havent had problems

 

had act for 9 mo, no problems.

 

Ive got a ACT 6 puck unsprung and the input bearing is fairly noisy at idle and really grating oon de-celeration. Cant imagine the shock loading has done my bearings any good.

Unsprung suck, far too harsh IMO

 

i rocked my act HD for over a year, never gave me any problems.
