Default Took my ej8 H22 to the dyno (vid/graph)

Decided it was about time to see what it was putting out, so i went to the dyno(dynojet). I was expecting around 175hp I got 182hp and 151 tq, so i was more then happy with the results. Remember this is untuned stock h22.

Thanks goes out to Teknotik(Nick and Eric) for letting me tag along, and getting me this mint mint motor.

182hp 151tq

Mods are.
jdm h22a
2.5 Exaust , CAI, p13 ecu.

Cheesy Vid..lol

Strong motor...that dyno isn't a very generous one.

pretty good numbers... My 2000 with a jdm type S swap, I/H/E and Hondata S200 put down 217hp at the wheels (dynojet). You should consider building an all motor H22A4. They pull hard and from my experience, they dont hold up under boost unless you build the bottom end.. FRM cylinders can not be bored/honed, so you can't swap pistons without sleeving it, which runs at least a grand, or it was last time I priced it. a good set of cams and a different IM helps a lot.

if they cant be bored or honed how come honda has procedures for doing so in the service manual?

- last i checked the helms manual has the hone and bore procedure for FMR walls.. the tolerences of the procedure are very specific so its difficult to match but doable.

-and yes you can swap pistons, you have options you can get the OEM type-s pistons or Mahle gold series pistons which are FMR compatible.

What's so good about iron sleeves if you're leaving the internals stock?

Either way Mahles have been working for awhile now. No reason to go F unless you already have one, or like disposable motors.

wrong they can be bored and hone if you have the proper machine. Talk to Jim Justice at Jim justice racing to get your FRM cylinder walls bored and honed.

its not the sleeves that are weak.....
its the ring landings on the pistons because they are cast and not forged....

Internaly the F22 is stronger than a H22...I will safley be able to run mor PSI with Iron sleeves than with FRM sleeves...........and yes I like disposable motors

yeah but 12psi with an F22 is about equal to or less than an H22 with about 6~8 psi bone stock!! And neither one will hold up very long as is. The H22 has weak ringlands while the F22 has weak ringlands and rods. Yeah yeah yeah I'm sure you know so and so who's been pushing XX amount of boost with his stock F22 for a few months but trust bud it wont last with out a proper build.

Let me guess you're in your late teens or early 20's and you've done it all and seen it all right?? Your years of expierience building motors has taught you the in's and out's of Honda motors correct?? My PSI statement is not a theory it the result of many observations between the 2 motors. I too have owned them both kid and the inherent weakness between the 2 is exactly as I described it. But hey you know it all so why waste my time....
