Default speed sensor

quick question, blew my tranny and bought another one from clayton bixby (Thank you shifts great) and as we were putting it in we broke off the speed sensor. I was told any sensor works so I used one from a 95 gsr motor but the socket didnt fit together. So I have been told that they are all the same and have been told there are different kinds. Thank you help is appreciated

oh and its a jdm ITR motor dont know if that makes a difference.

Is this an ITR you're talking about, why not use an obd 2 ITR speed sensor?

The obd 1 gsr speed sensor plug wouldn't work on your car anyway.

yeah its a 97 type r. Thanks for the input I picked up one at a local shop for 100 when acura wanted 220. The parts guy at acura told me any speed sensor would work from any year. Thank you for the correct info.
