Default Rear sway bar? and intake question

The rear suspension in the Fit is much like my xB was and dollar for dollar the best suspension mod I did was a progress rear sway bar in the rear. does anyone make one that "fits" the fit?
Also while im in here, I perfer to get a short ram intake, the only one out I see is weapon r and an automatic tranny version for the fujita, will the a/t short ram fit the 5 speed? I haven't seen any engine shots of the auto.

okay i don't understand you on the intakes. Fujita makes a cold air intake for the MANUAL TRANSMISSION ONLY and so does AEM they also make it for manuals only (called and confirmed it). Aspec racing also has a cold air intake as well. For auto's, you can get the weapon R short ram b/c the cold air intakes do not fit the automatic fits (ive looked and researched everywhere). All the short rams will fit the 5 speed's b/c its next 2 the transmission that doesn't have clearance, not on top of the transmission. I recommend getting CAI (cold air intake) because ur pullin in cold air rather then hot air and its around the same price. hope this helps.

f5air.com they have a Fit a/t short ram that is out or about to be out as its listed as a application. Thanks for the info about the weapon r fitting auto's, most likely the fujita will as well. CAI and FL and hurricanes where I live don't mix and lowering the car etc puts the filter in a precarious area for me in my locale. And being that its such a small engine I doubt a few degrees in temp is going to do much for HP on this 1.5l of fury.

It may not break the dyno on horsepower, but it could be the difference between getting the 37mpg out of a tank of fuel vs. 32, or even less.

I've got an ASpec one coming for my Fit (whenever they finally get them created and shipped), and I'll probably use it just for testing. I'll see how dramatic it changes my throttle response and fuel mileage. If it doesn't improve you can bet I'll go back to the stock air box with a K&N drop-in filter.

any pics of the Aspec unit? And about the MPG then I guess maybe you have a point there but I used a SRI on my xB and still gained mileage no better or worse then the CAI, I guess we are going to have to do some testing as the intakes become more available and on a few cars here on the forum. More concerned about suspension, lowering it, and firming it up and with that rear suspension setup a rear sway should make a big difference like it did on the xB.

Pretty much.

I am waiting for the SR Fujita to drop (which should be soon) and getting that sucker. Mostly... honestly... for the sound and look. Not hoping nor expecting large gains in WHP.

The CAI's do not fit properly without some tweaking and modding. IMHO looks kinda cheesey.

Check J's Racing, AJRacing, Spoon, Mugen, and others for the front and rear sway bars that are available. I beleive there are other posts on this page as well with parts of this nature.

Hit the search button up top right and you'll see what I mean.

What type of tweaking/modding on the CAI? I like fujita as well ran it on my xB and the quality is second to none, I mean hose techniques couplers, T clamps..quality stuff.. and I've checked out a few places online and haven't seen a rear sway bar for sale yet, just rear strut tower bars, front strut tower bars etc.

^^ pictured above is a rear strut tower bar.

I don't know if there will be a rear sway bar due to the torsion beam suspension in the rear.

Sorry if the pic was misleading. I just used that to show an example of some parts available.

If I come across one, I will be more then glad to shoot you a PM with the link or info.

The CAI does not clear the AT5's Transmission space. So it literally has to be crammed and forced into the space allowing you little to no clearance for the Tranny Fluid Dip Stick.

Once Fitfreak is back up I will shoot you the links on the how to. Some have made the CAI fit and don't mind the crammed appearance.

No problem at all.

And to show what I mean about the torsion beam suspension, Here are two pics. The first is illustrating the use of a sway-bar. The second is showing the torsion beams, just like we have on the rear of the Fit.

and now for the torsion beam...

This is how they do it on the xB same setup, so hopefully someone comes out with something.

And I have a 5 speed, so I was thinking you meant the CAI didn
't fit right on the 5 speeds

excellent!

Now that I think about it, that looks familiar. I recall looking at the TRD sway bar for the Xa. (which I assume might also fit the Xb)

Some where able to fit teh FUJITA CAI, but there's some rubbing on other parts. Really depends on installation.

FUJITa SR should be available now, and off course will work for both auto and manual
