Hey guys, and especially the Toronto crowd.

I did some searching through old threads and saw that there has been a Toronto meet almost every year around this time. I was wondering if there was any thoughts about doing one this year as well? Who usually hosts them?

I'm a fairly new ITR owner from a nearby city and have no local friends that are "car guys" by any means, and I'd be really stoked to meet some fellow ITR owners. From the Pics of previous years, it seems like it'd be a blast. I'd bet it'd be a 20+ car turnout this year.

So just wondering if some of the people who host the meets were thinking about a meet this year as well? I could help out in some way if needed. Let me know.

I'm in the GTA area alot so if you make it some sort of weekend, I could probably go.

 

Word...my car is in the body shop. Comin out to play next Tues anytime after that I would be there.

One stipulation...only ITRs I don't wanna be associated with fake Rs or civics with fart cans. If that makes me arrogant, then I guess I am. lol

 

I would be down for an ITR only meet in the GTA. I know of a few ITR friends that would be interested in going. I just picked mine up yesterday, wOOt!

 

Definitly up for a meet, but it will have to wait a couple weeks for me.

How about the 25,26 or 27th of July?

Dude, that ITR has been on the trader for months. It's a hunk of ****. It used to be PY, which the engine bay still is, there are scratches all over the place, it's dirty as ****, and it's riced out six ways from sunday. Do not buy that car ... i wouldn't wish that hunk on my worst enemy.

Anyways, in terms of a meet. Maybe we're looking to the first weekend in August? This might give some of you guys the opportunity to finish up projects, ect...
I'd like to hear from some of the guys who have organized one before, and hear their opinion on this as well. I'd plan it myself, but I'd want it to be ... *cough* ... good.

In terms of a venue, Vaughn Mills would be dope. LOTS of room for as many ITRs as we can handle, great backdrops for photos, lots of restaurants to eat at, and not so crowded streets to do a cruise. Best of all, it's only about 20 mins North of the city. I dunno, just an Idea ..?

And yes, ITR owners only.

 

How could that car have been PY tho? Unless it was painted several times.. It is a 97.

Ya, I guess you're right. I figured it had been painted, then painted back. But nonetheless, still a hunk of **** car

but ya i also suspect that the km are turned down on that car as well

 

I had fun at the last Type R meet in Yorkdale.. cool turnout, met some nice people.

I wouldnt mind commn down.. anyone wanna race?? hahaha.. Ppssssssssssst pssssst pssssssssssssssssssst.

Also guys, just a heads up....this summer in particular, with the recent CRUSHING of the civics in the Miller Concrete compound in Vaughn, we will have to expect to see "heat" during the meet.....we will not likely get away with having so many R's in one place at one time and NOT get away with seeing some sort of Police presence....it's a shame but it comes along with ownership of an R and living in the GTA!!!!!!!!Nowadays.

Just something to keep in mind

 

Glad to see some interest in this idea. In terms of "heat" from cops and such, it'd be a good idea to notify the cops and Vaughn mills security of the meet in advance (at least a week or so) so there isn't any kind of unwanted attention. This way, cops can drop in if they want, which I'm sure they will, but they'll know we're there so we're not getting booted. We as the ITR community just have to make sure no douchebags show up and try and race and ruin it for everyone.

I'm passing on this Vaughan Mills idea.

This place is a heat score. For theives + cops. The police station is a block away. No thanks.

I'd suggest you guys use Yorkdale Mall, The Bay parking lot is always empty. This is where we held our last meet. Great turnout, about 13 of us chilled for an hour together and shot the ****.


A tim hortons packed with a bunch of thugs is different then a group of ITR enthusiasts. People do this stuff all the time, especially oldies with their muscle cars.

 

i would be in for a meet, but definatly not at any mall.

Why not at an auto-x day somewhere?

Maybe somewhere other than Yorkdale though? I dunno, I'd trust my car at Vaughn Mills over Yorkdale anyday, but that's neither here nor there.

Any suggestions for location?

And about the auto-x day, that'd be a great idea but not everyone takes their car lapping ... like me. I'd love to, but it's my only car in the summer and I'd be fucked if something happened.

 

just because we have the car at meets, doesn't mean we keep our cars un-attended and go into the malls.
we stay in front of the cars, its like going to a tim hortons meet, except for ice caps and donuts your going in for, your shopping for girls/guys (politically correct)

No, I didn't bother looking at that one, I saw the PY engine bay and decided not to bother. I bought the one in the Trader that was in Guelph. It's a 2000 with 71k km. I believe the ad is still in the trader if you look.
