car does not crank over..
ok i just replaced the tranny ooh the car is a 90 civic hatch with a d16z6 i have a 89 si tranny. now the car was running perfect went to work.. went to leave work.. went to start the car nothing.. i have power but no types of cranking.. i replaced the starter the battery has juice the starter signal fuse is fine. tried to pop start it no success. now the one thing im thinking is the clutch ignition switch or whatever it is called.. where is that located and if you have a picture can you please post it.. and if you can think of anything else that it could be please i would like to know your suggestions thank you..
the clutch ignition switch is right on the back of the clutch pedal. you might want to check the terminals on the battery. If they are dirty the car would not crank over. Clean all the grounds on the engine bay. Check all the fuses in the car. Maybe the starter just went out?
the most common cause of this problem is the battery ground. This is the wire that goes from the battery negative post to the body of the car, then to the transmission. Unbolt it and clean it really well, also clean the area where it contacts the body and the tranny. Since you just replaced the tranny make sure you remembered to reconnect the wire to the tranny. I also upgraded to a better thicker wire when i had this problem and it worked like a charm.
umm the car was running perfect i will get there to clean the grounds and all that now i what does the clutch ignition swtich look like.

you should search about it. There are hundreds of threads just like this one. It will give you more ideas and even might find some symtoms very familiar to you.
