Like title says, I have a cable speedo n trans but i need a VSS signal to tap into my navigation system. Is there any way to get a signal short of switching to a VSS trans with guage cluster?

EDIT found through shearch that the B7 red/yellow wire from guage cluster to ecu should do the trick

Bump, anyone confirm that its the red/yellow wire in guage cluster for the vss signal on a cable speedo?

 

The info I have is a little vague. The book says there are two screws near the speedo cable on the back of the cluster and they have continuity 4 times per revolution of the speedo calbe. You might search for the pinout of the OBD0 ECU I'm 99% certain the ECU reads the speed. Once you find the pin for the ECU plug you can tap that wire.

Sorry I'm not more help but I converted to electric VSS so my wire is easy to find

I actually dug around for 30 minutes and the best info I could find was the VSS ties to B16 slot on the OBD0 ECU harness.

Now you have the info. Navigate.
