Check out : http://www.oregonregionsolo2.com

and if you feel like driving south a bit you can participate in the http://www.wmclub.org events.

The next event at PIR is on August 26th. If you feel like driving up to Packwood Washington, there's an even on July 23rd. Oh, and this weekend there's an event down at the Hoodoo Ski resort, if you feel like driving down there.

All you need is a helmet! (there's loaners available if you don't have one). That's all you need.

Even if you are not competative in your class, it's still a blast to get out there and have fun. Don't worry about modifying your car, just go out there and work with what you have.

It's $30 for non-scca members ($20 if you are a member).

Check the oregon region solo web site schedule page for the event info. It's not posted up right now but it should be soon.

You don't need to schedule ahead of time! Just show up and register! Everyone that goes is really helpful and understanding. My first time out I had no idea where to go or what to do. I ended up having an instructor walk me through the course and ride with me. They are always glad to help a noob out.

So far I have met nothing but nice and helpful people in the world of autocross.

If you are planning on going to the August 26th event let me know and I can meet up and show you where to go and what to do.

You shouldn't expect any more wear and tear than normal agressive driving.

I beat on my car all the time and never have issues.

http://bscc.net/ - Gets a little crowded sometimes but it's a good place to start.
