Default obd2 gsr motor with NO VIN NUMBER/TAG on the block :( ???? what should I do?

Is there some other way of telling if the motor if stolen besides going off the vin... since this block doesnt have the vin tag attached? where it says B18c1, under that has a few numbers.... can I call the local pd and read those numbers to them to see if its legit? any info would help. Thanks

dont know if they took it off or it fell off but has the rivet holes for the vin tag.

I dunno rivets are hard to come off by themself unless they see alot of abuse. The only rivets ive seen fall off are from my hockey skates.....

where would the vin be located on the tranny? I just see a bar code with y80 starting and some other numbers next to it.

I've had a jdm gsr that did'nt come with any vins. And the ref is only concerned if the car passes smog or not and if it is done correctly, I'm sure he is not interested in turning his customer's in!
