Default DVD Camcorder?

Anyone using one to record your in car footage?
I have recently been scammed on eBay and need to change my plans for recording my next event at VIR. So, I am going to buy a decent camcorder and have found a Hitachi DVD for $339. Any comments?

Not that I have tried but I can't imagine recording to a DVD in a bumpy car would have good results. I've used a bottom of the line Sony TRV-120 for 7 years and it still works. When it eventually breaks I will likely get another cheap Sony as they seem to hold up pretty well.
