steering memory for EF/Type R?
I have been having some suspension/balance issues with my EF/Type R, particularly one effect where there is a slight delay in steering- you turn left, and then have to countersteer slightly to the right to straighten out. I don't have power steering, figured I didn't need it since my original setup didn't have it, and there was no room for the power steering pump anyway. I talked with my body shop who noticed this effect and referred to it as "steering memory"- but I don't remember the car behaving this way before the swap. Does this have something to do with the suspension setup, or is this a result of having the heavier Type R motor swapped in? Is this a form of understeer?
And how do I correct this? I just had an alignment done and all the numbers are perfect.

how many million miles does your rack and pinion have? if you built a 200xxx mile chassis and it never had power steering id guess it would be well worn by now. had a similar problem with a volvo a while back.
I have over 200K on this chassis. But I never noticed the effects until I performed the swap. Could the heavier Type R motor be causing understeer that would cause this "steering memory?" Or could it be a torque steer effect caused by the Type R/LSD/lightweight chassis interface?
If I need to replace parts of the rack and pinion setup, which parts do I replace?
