Default Type R kit

hii. I have 2 questions and i appreciate if you can answer or give me an opinion as fast as you can thanks.

1. I have a c-west kit and plan to change it to a Type R kit. The reason is, I just wanted to be original like in Japan...so yea i will put the stickers and emblem 'Type R' on it. But my main concern is...is that ok? even though I dont have a type r motor on it?

2. Is there a big difference on the Type R kit and A-Spec kit? i havnt compare the pics side by side but its somewhat similar?

the a-spec kit has a different lip in the front and in the back and the side skirts are bigger than the type r ones but i would just suggest getting the type r lip kit and hold off on the type r emblems and stickers i have a blue 02 type s and i got the type r rims now i just need the lip kit but the only way i would put type r emblems on my car if i had the lip kit and the jdm interior recaros, carpet, door panels, and steering wheel. oh and you cant forget the red valve cover also i think people would mess with you more if they saw the type r stickers people try and run me off the road all the time already and i drive normal and never street race i cant go a month without someone throwing something at my car i get off of work and there's soda all over my drivers side window I'm just like not again

Dang dude people are just rude around your way. But seriously though he's right I wouldn't put Type R stuff on it unless you went all the way with Type R stuff. I have the JDM front Type S emblem and the JDM rear type S emblem and people really like them so I would just stick with that.

Ok if you had a K20A to back up the Type-R badge I don't see a problem with that. But badging something that isn't what it really is I don't like. Its like calling a base a Type-S and so fourth.

Sounds like they hit it on the head. Type R conversions you have to commit and go all the way or be considered a poser. I personally like the A-spec better and it is offered USDM so you can put on the lip kit and spoiler and not worry with modding the rest to JDM ITR spec.

ITR

A-Spec

Click on them and they get bigger!

Yea its not good faking the funk. If you are going to do a Type-R Might as well do the whole package. I personally don't like seeing the badges on a car if its not right hand drive and is not equiped like the Type-R

Honesty, do what you want. If you like the look of the kit and the badges, do it. People may say its faking the funk, unless you go all the way, motor, suspension, blah blah, but in the end, it still wont be a real Type R. Its not RHD, it still has a sunroof, so it will never truly be a real Type R. Dont get me wrong, I to, sometimes look upon cars with R badges and what not and think "poser" or "fake", but it all depends on the execution. If the car is clean and everything matches, I think its legit to rock the badges. Now on the other hand, if the car has JDM badges with Altezza's and Tenzo's, then that gets a big from me.

did i recommend it, no, but if someone gets a hard on for ITR badges, and they have authentic JDM parts, then let them do it, it's theyre car. i just believe that ITR badges look nice, but a stock type s isnt deserving IMO. i'd just go with honda integra type s badges.

Rather than getting the ITR badges, just slap on that JDM Type-S badge they got floating around. There are alot of cats on here talking about go ahead and slap ITR badges on your ride and hey they are right its your car but like I said and will always say. "If you ain't rocking a REAL ITR... Quit faking the funk". Just be happy we atleast got a downgrade version of it. Again its your car homegirl, do what you like.

I agree with K20tuner. I'm putting some JDM parts on my RSX and I'll probably rebadge it to an Honda Integra. But I'm not putting a Type-R badge until it has a real Type-R engine and trany. I mean, a red valve cover and some badges could get by some know-not's, but true tuners and enthusiasts will know the difference.

Actually our (USDM) Type-S are a little better than the JDM ones. Although they do get a NAVI option and the remotes are integrated into the key. We get the Type-R trany minus the LSD and slightly differnent 6th gear, they get the 5 speed manual or auto. We get nearly Type-R power, the JDM Type-S gets the base 160 HP. We get a 2840 lbs Type-S, they get a 2624 lbs Type-R and a 2734 lbs Type-S.

But either way, neither are true Type-R material.

Good point but would you still badge your car a "HONDA INTEGRA TYPE R"?
What some of you seem to always argue about is if they put a ITR motor in it it would make it an ITR. What I meant before some start hacking on me is: If you have a full ITR interior, a right hand drive with no conversion, and all the components that would make an ORIGINAL ITR then go ahead and badge the hell out of it. But if you rocking a US spec Type-S putting a Honda Type-S aint hurting much at all. Everyone knows its a Type-S. But like I said if it ain't even near what an ITR is then leave it alone. Go ahead and put ITR badges all over your car by all means its your car do what you please. Just like another Type-S owner I am not about to go out and buy me badges telling everyone "Hey look at me I got a Type-R. You are just asking for people to rag on you and for them expletive thieves to be sizing up your car.

All in the end, it doesnt matter how many Type R parts you have or dont to be eligible to put R badges on your car. Anyone can, it doesnt matter, its their car. Like I said, even if you convert to RHD, patch the sunroof, and do everything else possible to make it a Type R, remember that it still is not a real R. Its a copy. Why do you think all these companies out there stock and sell so many of these "JDM" badges. You dont think they're selling them to Type R owners do you? Its just for cosmetics. Same reason why the Japanese want the Acura badges.
