My car just started throwing a code 4, I randomly looked at the ecu and it was flashing code 4, check engine light doesnt come on though and I dont really notice any differences anywhere

What affect does code 4 have? Why is it being thrown? Worth fixing?

The car is an obdo 88 crx with a d16a6 - turbo

4 is cyp.
its the sensor in the dizz. I have an extra set of them for an obd1/2. hit me up if you are interested

 

I have 2 other distributors, Im not going to swap if this code means nothing

 

just fixed that problem with mine by getting a new dist.

 

I would highly recomment any code that represents something inside of your distributor.

my cyp is bad, and my car stutters and has a roaming idle

 

you could have looked this up in the faq post on here.. search before you even ask a question on here .

 

does it say if it affects performance? no, it doesnt say if it affects a single thing

 

well if your smart and read what it says about code 4 you would know that you should fix as soon as possible or els your car will run like ****. if you have any car knowledge you would konw this. in my opinion any code is worth fixing.

Code 4? Crank position sensor...that's eh...pretty good one to clear incase your timing belt jumps a notch or something...but whatever, it's only and engine it won't hurt performance!

 

why would it jump a notch? i'll be swapping dists tonight
