Default dpfi to mpfi question

Hi i just got a 90 crx dx and i'm planing on taking the car to get the multipoint done. The car has the stock dx motor in it and i was wondering if i drop the skunk 2 d series intake manifold and the 70mm throttle body. also some ls injectors. would this set up work fine on the stock dx motor?

I wouldn't bother on those manifolds myself.
Just do your MPFI then do a y8 manifold. Probbly get snag one for 40 or less.

The manifolds do make a power increase, if he has the money to throw around, i definately would. By LS injectors, you mean OBD0 ones, right?

yea obd0...i dont know if i want to convert to obd1..iv'e heard different opinions on this, wat do you guys think would be better? also would a stock b-series throttle body fit the skunk 2 mani? cus i think the 70mm throttle body might be too much for a stock na motor n i might lean out.

Not anywhere bang for buck esp on near stocker. Cam and some head work pistons turbo etc all way better.

OBD1> OBD0

I've had both and never looked back since obd1.

I know OBD0 LS injectors use a resistor box like the Civics, that's why i brought that up, you're fine (don't forget to run one!), just wanted to make sure you didn't try to run injectors that didn't need it and wonder why your car ran like poop. I think OBD1 switched to non-resistor? My OBD1 Civic doesn't have one anyway, i don't know about the 'teg.

I was looking at a dyno graph of stock VS a skunk awhile back and i think the gain was like 10whp.

OBD1 is non resistor you are correct.

For that graph also look at what y8s do and if its a skunk2 graph you'd be wise to look for a review here instead of a corprate one

It was a guy on D-series that compared them. By the way, a guy on there had better results with a Z6 compared to a Y8 as he pulled consistantly better track times. The Y8 manifold has curved runners, the Z6 are straight.

If i'm reading right, this was the comparison of both intake manifolds, i found it was i was typing this.

thanks for the help...but my main concern instant the mani its the throttle body....ive heard that a 70mm from skunk 2 is way to big for a stock na d series so that i should just use a stock b series throttle body thats 60mm...is that right?....but then someone else told me that u cant use b series throttle bodies on d series set ups...is dat right?

I hear about people doing that all the time.

The throttle body might be a bit too large, i have no personal experience, but like anything else when you increase the size with intake and exhaust, it raises your powerband. You might throw your powerband a little out of your revs and possibly have a little powerloss when you shift and the RPMs drop.

But, if you get into serious tuning, cam, etc, it'll help you out.

but remember the throttle body is going to be on a skunk 2 mani...not stock..so size probably wouldnt be the issue but what about the bolt pattern?
